The Island That Has Been Glowing Since Before Memory
Some islands are defined by their coastline. Tanna is defined by what sits at its centre.

TANNA
The Character
Tanna is home to Mount Yasur, widely regarded as the most accessible active volcano on Earth, a crater that has erupted, almost without pause, for at least eight hundred years, visible glowing from the sea as it was to Captain Cook in 1774. It is this single feature, more than any other in Vanuatu, that turns a routine Pacific stop into a genuinely unforgettable one.
Beyond the volcano, Tanna holds some of the country's strongest living kastom & kalja, villages where traditional practice has remained largely uninterrupted, set against a landscape of dense forest, black-sand coastline and views that stretch across the Coral Sea.
Vanuatu is not a destination—it is a dream anchored in reality.

Why It Matters to a Voyage
- One of Vanuatu's four official ports of entry, via Lenakel
- Home to Mount Yasur, a private after-dark crater visit is among the most memorable experiences available anywhere in the Pacific
- Strong, living kastom & kalja, with village access arranged only where genuinely welcomed
- Black-sand beaches and coastal landscapes distinct from anywhere else in the archipelago
- Spectacular Blue Cave experience that will leave you with a once in a lifetime photo opportunity
Vanuatu’s reefs shimmer with life, a kaleidoscope beneath the waves. Above, the horizon stretches into infinity, inviting you to sail further.

TANNA
What Sets the Tone
Tanna is not a destination that needs embellishing. A private crater-rim visit at dusk, timed to volcanic conditions and arranged with the appropriate local authority, does more to define a Pacific season than almost anything else on offer in this ocean. We treat it accordingly, as a privilege to be arranged with care, not a tour to be sold.
